Now it seems that there is snow all over Finland. In the south the snow cover is fair but in the north the cover is great for the Santa's reindeers.

Warm summer is turning into beautiful and colorfull fall. Parks in Helsinki are soon covered with leaves and the crispy sunny mornings will lead us to the snow season again.

Our friends Pauliina, Maija and Turo from www.NFFC.fi are pointing out that the most colorful season starts in few weeks in the northern places like Kuusamo.

On Tuesday 24th February in Helsinki City Park the students held a tradiotional Laskiaisrieha - which has lot to do with sliding down hill with what ever you have. Originally the
"Down Hill Sliding" got to do with getting ready for Easter Fasting - fast down hill towards fasting.

SUNNY DAYS AND SNOW REACHED HELSINKI

The long waited snow cover has landed to Helsinki. Gulf of Finland is about to froze.

SNOW COVER IN THE NORTH IS GETTING DEEPER

Finally the long waited snow landed in to the southern Finland in the end of the November. For some of us it definately wasn't a joy because almost a half-a-meter snow cover messed the normal track of life badly. Now the Southern Finland people have survived this event of snowing and happily enjoying the melting part of it.

FIRST SNOW LANDED ON HALLOWEEN WEEKEND

During the Halloween weekend the first snow landed in to the northern part of Finland. Will keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best snow season in years.
It’s looking good already!
